How do I use the TutorBug system ?Simply register on the site and login to the Tutor Board. You can browse for tutors by subject matter, course title, username of the tutor. You can view the credentials of tutors and communicate with them via text chat. When you have selected a tutor you simply decide how many hours of tutoring you wish to purchase. You can enter a quantity from one hour to four hours in the order form. Or, select tutoring in five hour blocks (used as needed). You receive a 15% discount when purchasing one or more five hour blocks of tutoring and these blocks are good for an entire year and can be used in one hour increments. The tutoring blocks also can be purchased as a Gift Certificate. Once you have purchased tutoring sessions and agreed to a schedule of tutoring you will receive an email giving you the download link to your Classroom which will be active at the appointed time. You simply click on your Conference Icon on your desktop shortly before your session has been scheduled. You will be issued a password to gain entrance to your Virtual Classroom. You will need to have a headset (microphone/headphone) so that you may speak with your Tutor and hear his comments with the clearest audio and video fidelity on the Internet.
Back to TopWhere can I find more information about your courses ?When you register on TutorBug you'll be able to download our video conferencing software. When you login to your TutorBug Member's Area and Tutor Board you'll see a searchable index of available courses and seminars. You can also go to the Lesson Library. Our system is designed so that courses and programmed learning software is rated by users. You will see a Popularity Rating based on the number of purchases and downloads. You'll also see a quality rating where users have rated the course on a scale of one to five with five being the top rating. We capture representative testimonials and commentary from actual courseware users to give you a better idea of what other students think of a particular course. Back to TopHow Can I learn online ?Typical distance learning sites on the Internet merely give a student password protected access to a repository of lesson software for them to download and study on their computer. They may also be able to communicate with a teacher who will assess their progress. This is called asynchronous learning in that the actual studying does not take place live in a classroom environment. TutorBug offers both asynchronous learning opportunities and live one-to-one tutoring using our Virtual Classrooms. When the teacher is present and in complete communication with students in "real time" it is termed synchronous learning. Our video conferencing technology enables a tutor or teacher to present course materials in all formats directly to students who have logged into the system. Teacher and student can converse with each other from anywhere in the world at no cost for long distance charges, for example. Files can be downloaded and the teacher can display entire courses done in PowerPoint, for example while using the White Board to write or illustrate his points. Students can ask questions using private text chat function. The teacher is in complete control of what his students view in the Virtual Classroom. Our Learning Management System allows students to save these live lessons for review in the future. Students can be given study assignments that they complete offline. Upon completion these assignments are uploaded into the secure Learning Management area where the teacher can observe the student's progress and make further assignments as required. Back to TopHow can I become an E-Tutor ?Go to E-Tutor for more information. Any current teacher with an accredited school can register for tutoring assignments. If you are not currently teaching you can register by submitting your resume and a cover letter explaining the course areas you feel qualified to teach. Your application will be reviewed by staff at PowerGate Applied Learning Systems. Our system is designed to enable E-Tutors to post their credentials and course offerings on the Tutor Board. All E-Tutors must be "hired" by a TutorBug Virtual Classroom Operator in order to teach on our system. E-Tutors may negotiate for assignments and may propose entire courses. E-Tutors can browse the Tutor Board to see what teaching assignments are available and may bid for any job that interests them. And, before you ask, an E-Tutor can purchase a Virtual Classroom and conduct their own classes or hire other E-Tutors to do the tutoring. Back to TopHow can I be sure I'm getting a qualified teacher or tutor? Each Virtual Classroom Operator personally reviews the resume of his teachers then, the teacher's credentials go through further review at company headquarters before admittance onto the Tutor Board. You can view the teachers' credentials on the TutorBoard as well as view his rating (from one to five stars). Each student has the opportunity to rate his teacher. Our system tracks these ratings and displays them along with a link to individual comments by the people using his services. Back to TopWhat is this Forced Matrix Marketing System ?See Forced Matrix. TutorBug uses the power of word of mouth advertising or "networking" because it is ideally suited to our particular service. When a student begins to excel by using our system it is natural for parents to want to tell other parents about our unique program. By sharing success stories with students and their parents families can cover the cost of our service and even create a substantial supplemental income. TutorBug makes it simple to earn affiliate commissions. All you do is refer students and their families to your TutorBug web site. They register at no cost. If they purchase our tutoring services you earn a commission! What if I have an idea for a course? We are always looking for valuable course ideas but unless you can teach it or own a Virtual Classroom the idea itself is of little use. Before we can consider a new course idea we will need to evaluate the teacher's credentials and check out the course outline and proposal to see if it has merit. Then, we create the marketing campaign for the course or seminar and make it available for our marketers to promote. Back to TopBack to TopAuthor David Davies
